“¡Qué Pachamama, Yo Leo!” is a project aimed at promoting reading in rural areas, funded by the Ministry of Culture. This initiative, directed towards non-profit organisations such as La Bien Pagá, has utilised the grant received to purchase essential materials and organise various cultural and educational activities.
The project comprises several workshops, including a performance, a reading promotion workshop, the creation of personal books, and the publication of the interactive book “¡Qué Pachamama, Yo Leo!”, based on the aforementioned performance.
This original book offers an interactive experience, allowing readers to use stickers to place the actresses and characters in different parts of the book, depending on their interpretation of the story.
The project was carried out in 10 rural communities in the province of Valladolid, Castilla y León, each with a population of fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Its aim was to bring reading to life in a dynamic and creative way for communities that traditionally have limited access to such cultural projects.
Below are some images of the workshops that took place.
